The Chesapeake Bay Funders Network (CBFN) is a funding collaborative dedicated to improving the capacity within communities to initiate and sustain change necessary to promote and protect the health of the Chesapeake Bay. CBFN is a goal-oriented organization that fosters opportunities for funders to pool resources and work together on shared interests in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. It allows grantmakers to network, exchange information and collaborate to protect and restore the health of the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed.

Co-chaired by The Chesapeake Bay Trust and The Keith Campbell Foundation, this successful example of collaborative funding is a model for grant makers throughout the nation. We welcome you to our website and invite you to learn more about our network's collaborations to save our National Treasure, the Chesapeake Bay.

Council of Foundations Annapolis Day Trip

The Chesapeake Bay Funders Network (CBFN) hosted 50 foundation leaders from the Council of Foundations Summit on May 6, 2008.  Attendees experienced The Power of Green on the Chesapeake Bay which took participants on a multi-faceted journey to Annapolis, Maryland, the capitol of the state and an historic port on the Chesapeake Bay.

A highlight of the day was a tour of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s headquarters with a view of the Bay and Black Walnut Creek. The Philip Merrill Environmental Center was the first building to receive the U.S. Green Building Council’s Platinum rating for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

The Chesapeake Bay Funders Network would like to thank the Council of Foundations and all who participated in this remarkable excursion.
