For over a decade, Waterkeepers Chesapeake, Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association, and other stakeholders have worked to secure a new water quality certification that meets enforceable water quality standards in the new 50-year federal license for the operation of Conowingo Dam. On October 2nd, Governor Moore announced a historic agreement with Constellation Energy (the owner of Conowingo Dam) that shares commitments valued at over $340 million for cleaner water and continued progress in the restoration of the Susquehanna River and the Chesapeake Bay.
